Power

The spiritual power the church needs does not come from human effort, but from the Holy Spirit. Christ promised His disciples they would receive power to be witnesses everywhere, and that promise remains valid for those who obey Him.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the investiture that equips the believer to preach, build up, and serve effectively. With that power, the church overcomes lukewarmness, sustains its witness, and fulfills the Great Commission with passion for souls and confidence in God's work.

Acts 1:8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
