Kyrios
When Jesus rose He was received in glory, being exalted by God, given a name that is above every name, and at the name of Jesus every tongue confesses that He is Lord (Kýrios).
Jesus is the Kýrios, the Supreme Authority in the Universe, the Sovereign over all His creation. The first Christians recognized Jesus Christ as Kýrios with love and submission, paying the price of enduring reproach, persecution, and even death for His name.
Today we reaffirm that Jesus Christ remains the Master and Lord of our lives, for He is the one who governs and the only owner of this missionary work.
By surrendering our will before His sovereignty, we allow His authority to guide every step of the way, recognizing that only under His lordship does the church remain steadfast and fulfill its eternal purpose on earth.
Philippians 2:9-11
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
