Pentecost
Pentecost marks the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the early church. That event fulfilled Christ's promise and began a new stage in the work of the gospel, with power to testify and build up.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the investiture of power upon the sanctified believer, necessary to witness to the Lord and avoid lukewarmness. As on the day of Pentecost, God still fills those who seek Him with faith, obedience, and hunger for His presence.
Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
