Fire

Fire in Scripture symbolizes God's purifying presence and the power of His Word. At Pentecost, tongues like fire appeared over the disciples, a sign of the Holy Spirit's investiture upon the church.

The believer needs that spiritual fire to overcome lukewarmness, burn with passion for lost souls, and serve the Lord with power. God's Word, like fire, consumes what is impure and kindles a holy zeal that drives the church to fulfill the Great Commission with anointing and fervor.

Acts 2:3

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
