Prayer

Prayer is both a privilege and a duty of the Christian. Through it the soul draws near to God to worship, ask for what is needed, and intercede for others. It is not an isolated act, but a permanent state in the believer's life.

Effective prayer is made in the name of Jesus Christ, with faith, wholeheartedness, and obedience to the Word. The Christian who prays serves the Lord better and becomes a beneficial influence in the church, drawing on the spiritual resources God has made available.
