Forgiveness

The salvation Christ offers includes cleansing from all sin through His blood. But forgiveness received from God also requires forgiving others, bearing with one another in the same love with which the Lord forgave us.

In the life of the church, forgiveness restores harmony and allows the fallen brother to return to the Lord's path. Confessing sin to God and receiving His mercy is the foundation of Christian life; extending that forgiveness to those who offend us is proof that we have understood the grace of the gospel.

Colossians 3:13

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
