Humility

Entering the kingdom of heaven requires becoming like a child: recognizing one's own need and depending on God with simplicity. Humiliation is the attitude that allows the believer to receive the Lord's grace without pride or self-sufficiency.

When the member humbles themselves before God and the church, the path of forgiveness and restoration opens. Church discipline seeks to prove the sincerity of repentance, but always with the purpose of lifting up the fallen and guarding the congregation's witness. Humbling oneself under God's hand is the path to exaltation in due time.
